Sh2-136 - Ghost Nebula

In a region full of stars and interstellar dust in the constellation Cepheus, ghostly clouds emerge from the darkness in the form of ghosts and ghostly apparitions. The nebula itself contains several new stars that give it a brownish color. This small nebula is about 2 light-years across and lies about 1,470 light-years away. The star directly in the center, which radiates the nebula, is the protostar. New stars are slowly being born from the dense, collapsing clouds throughout the imaged area.
